Predictive value of SIRI and SII for metastasis in Renal cell carcinoma: a retrospective study

Renal cell carcinoma is the one of the most common urological malignancies. It is associated with high mortality with an estimated 20 – 40% of patients presenting with metastatic disease at the time of presentation. Therefore identifying reliable prognostic markers that can aid in management of RCC is critical. Systemic Inflammatory Response Index (SIRI) and systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) are markers of inflammatory tumour-supportive microenvironment.SIRI includes the counts of neutrophils, monocytes and lymphocytes with the formulation of (monocyte count x neutrophil count/ lymphocyte count). SII is calculated as platelet count x neutrophil count/ lymphocyte count.
