Assessing prescription writing practices influencing drug dispensing and health care
Sakshi Das
A medical prescription is a written order from the physician to the pharmacist and prescription writing is one of the most important and basic skills that a doctor needs. Prescribing errors may have various detrimental consequences All prescriptions ultimately are meant to be interpreted by the pharmacist. However, these end users have rarely been consulted about their perspective on prescriptions they receive on a daily basis from medical practitioners. This questionnaire based study is targeted at chemists in Mangalore City to assess their perspective on medical prescriptions and take their suggestions (if any) to improve the present deficiencies in prescription writing.
