Report of School Health Program: “Adolescent Health Problems”

On November 7, 2025, the Department of Community Health Nursing and II-year MSc Nursing students of 沙巴体育 College of Nursing (MCON), in collaboration with NSS of MCON and PHC Manipura, conducted a school health awareness program on "Adolescent Health Problems" at U.S. Nayak High School, Patla.

The objective of the program was to provide students with fundamental information on common adolescent health problems and?healthy practices to prevent these issues.

The program commenced at 3:00 pm with a welcome speech by Ms. Ananya T. Maidan, II Year MSc Nursing student, MCON, and the gathering was addressed by Mr. Shantappa Moolangi, Principal, U.S. Nayak High School, Patla; Dr Vinish V, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Health Nursing, MCON; Mrs Renita, CHO, HWC, Marne.

The program was led by Ms. Anvika T. Maidan, a II Year MSc Nursing student at MCON, who conducted an interactive session with the students on Adolescent health problems. Mrs Renita, CHO, Marne talked about the importance of avoiding substance abuse to lead a healthy life. Ms. Ananya T. Maidan continued the program with the next topic, Menstrual Hygiene and its importance, with 59 girls from classes VIII, IX, and X.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Ananya T. Maidan. Prizes were distributed to all participants of the programme. Approximately 101 (35 boys & 66 girls) students and 7 teachers attended the program.

This program was successful in educating students and teachers on Adolescent Health Problems, along with Menstrual hygiene and its importance. The awareness programme contributed to SDGs 3 and 4. They can develop responsibility and positive habits by incorporating these values in their daily lives.

The programme was conducted under the leadership of Ms. Anvika T. Maidan, student leader, a group of 4 M.Sc. students. Dr Vinish V, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Health Nursing, and Dr Shashidhara Y. N., Professor & Head, Department of Community Health Nursing, supervised the programme.
