Assistant Professor

Priyanka Pradeepkumar, Assistant Professor at DLHS, MAHE-Blru, brings academic knowledge and industry experience in the field of Linguistics. She recently completed her doctoral thesis as a Senior 沙巴体育 Fellow (UGC) at the Department of Linguistics and Phonetics, English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad. Her research focused on documenting the socio-linguistic aspects of a minority Dravidian language spoken by the indigenous Cholanaikkan community of Kerala. Before her doctoral studies, Ms. Pradeepkumar earned her M.A. in Linguistics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and her B.A. (Hons) in English from EFLU, Hyderabad. Her research, documenting the linguistic characteristics of under-resourced and minority languages, plays a crucial role amidst the threat of language endangerment. It serves to preserve the heritage languages and lesser-known mother tongues as invaluable cultural assets and repositories of traditional wisdom for humanity. She has shared her findings at various international conferences and at the esteemed Dravidian Linguistic Association (DLA) in India. She has also contributed to a high-profile, peer-reviewed journal. In addition to this, she has worked as a Subject Matter Expert for Lionbridge Technologies, Inc., and was also one of the live interpreters for Google Trusted Media Summit, 2020. Ms. Pradeepkumar is committed to advancing the field of Linguistics through her research and teaching. Her approach integrates theoretical frameworks with empirical data, aiming to foster collaborative projects and create an inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and innovative research among her students.
