The History courses orient students to the collective past of humanity. The purpose is to acquaint students with the various significant events that have shaped India, its surrounding regions, Asia, and other regions of the world. Another aim is to provide multiple perspectives to study and comprehend the past. With a special emphasis on Indian History, learners would also be introduced to the histories of various other parts of the world. The programme’s basic goal is to familiarise the students with the complexities and conflicts that have marked the various periods in collective human history.?

The Sociology courses are designed to cover themes and concepts relevant to both national and international contexts. Students are exposed to various perspectives on diverse social phenomena through which they gain the knowledge and skills necessary to comprehend these phenomena from a sociological perspective. Some of the areas that are emphasised on include Applied Sociology, Comparative Sociology, Cultural Sociology, Collective Behaviour, Crime and Delinquency, Community and Demography.
