Area of Interest

His clinical expertise involved the assessment and habilitation of children with cerebral palsy and rehabilitation of people with stroke, head injury, spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s diseases and related neuromuscular and mind related disorders.

Area of Expertise

Karthik is a certified aquatic therapist in Clinical Ai Chi, Aqua T Relax, Bad Razag Ring Method (BRRM) and Water Specific Therapy – Halliwick from Association of 沙巴体育 Aquatic Therapy Faculty (IAFA). He has completed advanced level 3B/4A in Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) from 沙巴体育 PNF Association (IPNFA). He underwent training on Movement Analysis and Educational Strategies (MAES) Therapy, UK. Karthik is a certified advanced NDT pediatrics and adult neuroscience therapist from Neuro Developmental Therapy Association (NDTA), Asia Pacific Bobath Instructors Association (APBIA) and 沙巴体育 Bobath Instructors Training Association (IBITA). He has completed advanced training course on Prechtl’s Method on the Qualitative Assessment of General Movements from GM Trust, Austria. Karthik has an expertise in CranioSacral Therapy I & II (CST, Upledger Institute 沙巴体育, USA), fascial manipulation level I (Stecco L, Italy) and wheelchair service provision (沙巴体育 Society of Wheelchair Professionals).

Karthik’s major research interests are trunk training, physical activity, mobility training and hand functioning for people with stroke and Parkinson’s disease. He is currently working on development of participation questionnaire for children with cerebral palsy and establishing a play based motor skill training in children with developmental challenges.
