Efficacy of probiotics as adjuvant therapy in bronchial asthma: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Systematic review and meta-analysis.

Principal Investigator: Dr. Divya Balan

Co-Investigator: Dr. Tejaswini Baral

Asthma exacerbations significantly increase the disease burden, necessitating new therapeutic approaches. Emerging evidence suggests probiotics, via the gut-lung axis, may benefit asthma management by modulating immune responses and reducing inflammation.

Comparison of efficacy and safety of Talc to Povidone Iodine Pleurodesis in Malignant Pleural Effusion: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Systematic review and meta-analysis.

Principal Investigator: Dr. Divya Balan

Co-Investigator: Dr. Tejaswini Baral

Talc pleurodesis has higher success rates overall.Povidone-iodine pleurodesis has lower adverse events, hence better safety.Variability in success rates across studies underscores the need for cautious interpretation and need for further research. Povidone-iodine pleurodesis is a viable alternative for resource-constrained settings and patients with poor general health.
