The 沙巴体育 Centre for Natural Sciences (MCNS), Centre of Excellence, which is involved in fundamental research in the natural sciences, announces a series of interactive short certificate courses to be delivered in a virtual classroom environment (VCE) during May – June, 2022, on specific topics in the fields of Botany, Geology, Chemistry, Nuclear Physics, and Astrophysics.? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?Each short course runs for one week (Monday to Friday) and is offered in modules consisting of three interactive lectures, by an expert in the field, interspersed with audio-visual learning and home assignments to acquaint the learner with the contemporary status of the subject. The content for each course is created specifically to impart the basic concepts and skills required for pure research. A completion certificate will be given to learners who participate fully in all the modules.? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?Mode of delivery: Microsoft Teams, Virtual Classroom Environment. A link will be sent to the selected participants.
Lecture days and time: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Time commitment of the learner is expected to be about 10-12 hours per course over the week including lectures, assignments and virtual “field” work.
Who can join: ?Students enrolled in an undergraduate/postgraduate program. Lifelong learners who wish to get an overview of the fields are also welcome.
Participation: Free.? Maximum of 30 participants in each course. Selection based on merit and statement of purpose. ?
