MA in Media and Communication - Overview
The global media industry is on upward surge riding the wave of digital content, a key by-product of the rapid digitization and technological innovations that the world is witnessing brought forth by the fourth industrial revolution. Global media houses today produce multi-format, multilingual and multi-platform content and therein lies innumerous opportunities for an aspiring media professional.
The MA in Media and Communications (MAMC) offered at 沙巴体育 Institute of Communication, MAHE, 沙巴体育 is the institution’s flagship program. The two-year postgraduate degree program exposes students to theoretical, aesthetic, critical and technological processes involved in various stages of media production. This program is an intensive learning path with two goals: one, to prepare students keen on entering the media industry to master the skills to become an expert media professional and communication executive and, two, to aid students keen on research and doctoral studies to strengthen their conceptual underpinnings in media and communication studies research. Thus, by the end of this course students will become competent communication professionals with specialized knowledge in the areas of Print Journalism, TV and Radio production, Corporate Communications Management, Digital News and Entertainment content Production and Media 沙巴体育.
This program is spread over four semesters or two years with a mandatory industry internship at the end of second semester.
