Leadership
The leadership team oversees the academic, business and student affairs of ɳ°ÍÌåÓý, representing the institution¡¯s vision, mission, and purpose both in India and abroad.
Dr. Keerthana obtained M.Sc. and M. Tech. degrees from Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi, Kerala and Ph.D from MAHE, ɳ°ÍÌåÓý. She started her academic career as an Assistant Professor at MSIS, ɳ°ÍÌåÓý in 2002 and since then is serving the institute in various academic capacities.? With a keen interest in application of technology in medicine, Dr. Keerthana has worked very closely with many medical researchers in India and abroad. She was a part of the AI-based cervical cancer screening approach that was developed as part of a CAMTech Innovation Award, which won $ 50000 funded by USAID. She is also part of the collaborative proposal with the University of Groningen, Netherlands which won the Horizon 2020 Grant of € 3 million, funded by the European Commission. She has been instrumental in developing a tool for evaluation of bone mineral density named BMDScan which won the Rural Innovation Award ($ 15,000) from the Microsoft. She has also worked on automation of malaria parasites detection using image analysis, for which she has received IDF Innovation Award. ?Dr. Keerthana has to her credit two patents granted and six patent applications pending examination in India. She has published around 50 research papers in indexed international journals, and has an H-index of 15.
