MANIPAL ASSOCIATION OF PHARMACY STUDENTS [MAPS]

MAPS is an official body constituted every year for the students to look into the various activities of students during the academic year.??
The following events are organised by the various councils
- Sanskriti - College Cultural Fest organised?by Cultural Committee
- Pharma Quora?- ?An academic fest to unearth the literary and scientific talents of students organised by Academic Committee
- Athlos – Inter batch sports events organised by Sports Committee
- Qalam – Literary fest by Ed Board
- EnterPrize - Entrepreneurial fest consisting of various activities and competitions organised by Innovation and Entrepreneurship Committee
- Community services offered by students of the college like Blood donation camp, Health Awareness camps, visit to various locations of the under privileged and spread awareness about hygiene, cleanliness etc organised by Community Development Committee
- Participation in UTSAV – the Cultural Fest of the University
- National programs directed by UGC like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, National Education day, etc which is coordinated by the Executive Committee
- Independence day and Republic day parade coordinated by Sports Committee
- Students’ exchange program and Model United Nation for students of MCOPS organised by Student exchange Committee.
- Volunteer services organized by VSO
The Association activities can be further subdivided under the following sub committees:
Academic Committee: The Academic Commitee plays a crucial role in shaping the pharmacy curriculum, fostering research, and promoting professional development aligned with IPSF. Among their notable events is ‘PharmaQuora’ , the flagship annual pharmacy fest, which serves as a vibrant showcase of pharmaceutical expertise. This event features engaging activities, including poster presentations and a quiz competition, contributing to the dynamic atmosphere of professional growth within the pharmacy field.

Cultural Committee: Cultural committee is a group of students dedicated to making college life more memorable. We conduct four main events, starting with ‘Genesis’ as a grand inauguration for the new council members. Moving onto ‘Sanskriti’ where each batch competes passionately in various activities aiming for the grand trophy.
We also conduct the ‘Annual day’ where students are appreciated for their hard work in academics while also showcasing amazing performances. Finally, we finish with ‘Utsav’ which is an inter-MAHE competition that brings the whole college together!

Sports Committee: The Sports Committee is responsible for conducting "ATHLOS". This is the term given for Inter Batch Sports events held every year. It includes both individual and team events with the final event being "Athlos Day/Sports Day" which includes field and track events. Our committee is also involved in ensuring our college forms teams and participates in various Inter-MAHE sports events. Along with various sports activities we also help form the MCOPS troop/contingent every year for Independence Day as well as Republic Day Parade.

Student Exchange Committee(SEC)- The SEC is entrusted with the coordination of bilateral and unilateral student exchanges, focusing on short-term projects and internships collaboration with IPSF, IASTE, and AIESEC.? Its responsibilities extend to the efficient management of all communications with IPSF, leading initiatives to promote awareness of IPSF, and overseeing the administration of the IPSF Development Fund program. Furthermore, the SEC hosts events such as Model United Nations and various other programs that provide insights into educational and professional opportunities globally.

Ed board - The Editorial Board is responsible for publishing the annual college magazine, Ab-Aeterno, which compiles the various events and achievements of the student body. Additionally, the committee hosts Qalam, MCOPS' intercollegiate literary festival, which is open to students across the state.

The Community Development Committee (CDC)- This committee is dedicated to fostering positive change. It actively organises various events including, an annual Blood Donation drive, a Children’s Day celebration at KMC, and various community services like Health camps, Basic Life Support training and a Hair donation drive. The CDC's initiatives extend beyond these mentioned activities, as the committee is open to exploring and implementing additional projects for the betterment of the community.

Social Media Committee (SMC)- The SMC of MAPS plays a crucial role in managing and enhancing the organization's online presence. Comprising of individuals with expertise in photography and Graphic Designing, the committee is responsible for curating and creating content for various social media platforms. The tasks include developing engaging posts, implementing strategic campaigns, and fostering community interaction. By staying abreast of current trends and utilizing analytics, the committee aims to maximize outreach and impact. Collaboration with other committees ensures a cohesive online representation of MAPS, fostering a positive and dynamic online community.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship Committee (IEC)- The IEC is responsible to inculcate startup culture and innovation amongst the students of MCOPS. Throughout the year, dynamic seminars, workshops, and events are conducted that promote the essence of entrepreneurship to the students. The flagship event of the committee is ‘EnterPrize’ which is an entrepreneurial fest consisting of wide-ranging activities and competitions.

Disciplinary Committee - The disciplinary committee is responsible for maintenance of decorum during events hosted by other committees of MAPS. The Student Discipline Committee constitutes for the maintenance of discipline in the college. The committee ensures that students obey rules and remain orderly and peaceful in the pursuant of educational objectives in the college.
