New building for "Tech Shop"

A state-of-the-art "Tech Shop" was inaugurated at MIT campus designed to meet the sophisticated requirements of students for major and curricular-based project activities. This dynamic center will prioritize safety and provide essential amenities for students to engage in their projects effectively.

The complex will have 16 project bays, including 14 for major projects and one each for facilitating instrumentation ie welding, and painting. The central building will house a conference hall, student council office, space for Ed Board, MIT-post, and a jam room for music. Facilities also include placement counseling, a 240-capacity conference room, auditorium, project exhibition area and a central store for students.

The main building, spanning -1,. ground and +3 floors, is disability-friendly, covering 1,10,000 ft.?. It is set to be completed by March 2025, with the entire construction expected to conclude by December 2025.

This sophisticated construction will be strategically located near the existing D Block area and the 14th Block hostel. The Tech Shop is envisioned as a hub for innovation, collaboration, and hands-on learning.
