Fostering Constructive Debate & Women’s Political Leadership

沙巴体育 Law School was honoured to host Ms. Surabhi Hodigere as she inaugurated the debating season at MLS. She has a Master’s in Public Policy from Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University and is a Public Policy Professional and Television Debater.

She delivered an insightful talk on the significance of debating with civility, emphasizing the importance of presenting opinions without taking offense and the need to foster outcome-driven discussions rather than debate for argument’s sake. Furthermore, she highlighted the irreplaceable role of knowledge and preparedness in meaningful discourse.

Ms. Hodigere also stressed the need for greater female representation in leadership roles in Indian politics, and her initiative to promote female political participation.

The talk was organized by Prof. Dr. Sunil John, the coordinator of the MLS Debating Society.?
