The Students' Wing of the 沙巴体育 Chair in Bioethics at KMC Mangalore conducted an engaging workshop titled Etica 2.0: Exploring Ethics at the Intersection of Science and Humanity on June 29, 2024.
The event commenced with an inaugural ceremony graced by Dr. B. Unnikrishnan, Dean of KMC Mangalore, as the Chief Guest, and Mrs. Sharika Rai, Head of the Law Department at SDM Law College, as the Guest of Honour.
Participants engaged in a variety of interactive events, including:
- Courtroom Trial: Simulating legal proceedings to understand the ethical dimensions of medical and scientific decisions
- Ethicine: A debate on contemporary ethical issues in medicine
- Mock IEC (Institutional Ethics Committee): An exercise to experience the functioning and decision-making processes of ethics committees in research settings
The workshop was met with widespread appreciation, with active participation from students who benefited immensely from the hands-on learning experience.
