MU-STEERLife Centre of Excellence in Twin Screw Processing established at MCOPS

A wonderful synergy between academia and industry resulted in the establishment of centre for drug delivery technologies. The much awaited, ‘MU- STEERLife Centre of Excellence in twin screw processing’ was inaugurated at the hands of Dr H Vinod Bhat, Vice-Chancellor of 沙巴体育 Academy of Higher Education on 20 March, 2017 in the Department of Pharmaceutics at 沙巴体育 College of Pharmaceutical Sciences for the benefit of various institutes of 沙巴体育 Academy of Higher Education. Dr Bhat applauded the phenomenal growth of the college since the time it appeared in QS World University ranking 2017, early this month. “We need to keep up this momentum. There’s still room at the top” said the honourable VC in his inspiring speech. Mr Satish Padmanabhan, Director, Mr Indu Bhushan, Chief Technology Officer, Dr Vijay Kulkarni from STEERLife Centre, Dr C Mallikarjuna Rao, Principal, Dr M Sreenivasa Reddy, Vice Principal MCOPS, Dr N Udupa, Directorate of 沙巴体育 沙巴体育 Academy of Higher Education and many other dignitaries were present during the occasion. Mr Padmanabhan gave an insight into the STEER world. Soon after the inaugural programme, Mr Indu Bhushan encouraged students to initiate projects related to drug delivery. He presented an overview of processing and the lacunae affecting drug delivery. Mr Bhushan insisted other specializations of pharmaceutical sciences to make great use of this opportunity. Mr Indu Bhushan strongly feels this technology is going to spearhead product performance. Dr Srinivas Mutalik, Coordinator, Centre for Drug Delivery Technologies, MCOPS briefed upon the objectives and scope of the Centre. A panel of STEERLife members and faculty of MCOPS discussed about the implementation of projects and demonstration of the Twin Screw Processor, followed thereafter.
