The Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, MCODS, Mangalore in association with the MCODS Mangalore Orthodontic 沙巴体育 Association(MMOAA) successfully conducted the fourth “Dr. V Surendra Shetty – Dr. Subraya Mogra Endowment Oration” on 5th July 2024, to honor these two legends in the field of Orthodontics. The inaugural program commenced with a warm welcome rendered by Supriya Nambiar, HOD and Professor, Dept. of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, MCODS Mangalore. It was followed by an address by Dr. Ashita Upoor, Dean, MCODS Mangalore. The chief guest for the function was Dr. Dilip G. Naik, Pro VC (Mangalore campus). Dr. Arathi Rao, Associate Dean, MCODS, Mangalore was also present along with several senior members of the MMOAA. The program was conducted in the MEU Hall, Light House Hill Campus. ?The batch of 1992 comprising of Dr. Girish Deshpande, Dr Rohit Deshpande,Dr R Vijayakumar, Dr.Sri Krishna Chalasani, Dr PSudhakar were honoured. Dr. Nidhin Philip shared a message on behalf of the batch. The guest orator was Dr. Mala Ram Manohar, a brilliant clinician. After 11 years as a full-time Private Practitioner in Calicut, Kerala, she ventured into a teaching career.? Being a passionate teacher, she worked at CODS, Davangere till 2020 & is currently a Senior Professor at Malabar Dental College, Edappal, Kerala. The topic of the oration was “Complex Malocclusions Made Easy”. Dr. Mala Ram Manohar showcased several finished cases, along with long-term follow-up, and shared numerous clinical tips and insights on how to achieve excellence in finishing. The oration was a very informative and enriching learning experience for its vast audience, comprised of around 80 participants including several renowned clinicians and senior alumni.
