The observership program that took place at faculty of dentistry, MMMC , Malaysia provided an excellent opportunity for the blending of cultures and the exchange of knowledge. Five of us namely,

got the opportunity to attend the 5 day program. The program started with lectures on implantology on the 18th along with an implant surgery that we were able to view. The Dental Student Council of MMMC were kind enough to include us in their Raya celebrations on 18th where we had a spirited round of board games and took us out for street shopping in Jonkers street on the 21st.?
?
We were able to observe cases and how the dental clinic functions in their college in the morning sessions and received demonstrations on Intra oral Scanners, Impression techniques and Temporary Crown Fabrication and Rotary Endodontics on Extracted Teeth for the hands on workshops which helped hone our dental skills. A particularly impressive new approach called -Smile-In-A-Box- that promises to deliver crowns on the same day with implant guides, customized to each patient was shown to us.?
?
This allowed us to draw comparisons about how different countries go about their work and allowed us to collaborate with international minds. While our minds were getting enriched we also found the time to enjoy ourselves at Genting highlands Theme Park on 19th evening. The entire program ended with the valedictory ceremony with the Dean Dr. Abdul Rashid Bin Ismail and other dignitaries. Overall, it was a highly informative and pleasant experience that helped broaden our understanding of Dentistry and helped us develop new skills.??
