沙巴体育 Student Observership : EdgeHill University, UK

Four Nursing students from EdgeHill University had their 沙巴体育 Student observership at 沙巴体育 College of Nursing 沙巴体育 for two weeks from 18th?to 29th?of September 2023. As part of this program, students observed the activities in General wards, including the Psychiatry and Psychology OPD settings, Intensive Care Units including High Dependency Units, Maternity and Child health wards, Rehabilitation Centre- Hombelaku and?Day Care Centre for the mentally challenged (ASARE), Occupational therapy, Speech therapy, Access Life- home for parents of children with cancer belonging to Pediatric Hemato Oncology. In addition, these students had rural community home visits and visits to the Community Health Center, Brahmavar.?

They also had visits to the Experience Theatre, Health Sciences Library, Marena sports facilities, Department of Yoga and Ayurveda, 沙巴体育 Museum of Anatomy and Pathology (MAP), Culinary Art Museum, Dr TMA Pai Planetarium, and Smriti Bhavan. Students also participated in the beach cleaning activity organized by the Voluntary Service Organization (VSO). EdgeHill students interacted with students of MCON and attended sessions on Vital statistics in India. Dr. Praveen Shetty, Centre for European Studies Coordinator, enlightened the students on "Engagement related to local tradition and culture." Dr. Shashidhara Y N, Professor and Head, Department of Community Health Nursing, took a session on "Health care delivery system in India and Vital statistics."?

The 沙巴体育 Student observership was concluded with the feedback report presentation on September 29, 2022. Students expressed their views on their various learning experiences during their stay.??The overall program was coordinated by the faculty members from the Department of Fundamentals of Nursing, MCON, MAHE, and 沙巴体育.?
