On the occasion of World AIDS Day, the Department of Fundamentals of Nursing, 沙巴体育 College of Nursing, 沙巴体育, along with First Semester BSc Nursing students, conducted a street play and formed a seashore human chain to create awareness of the risk factors, social stigma, prevention, and effective management of HIV/AIDS on December 2, 2023, at Malpe Beach. A total of 25 students participated in the street play.

An awareness session on HIV/AIDS for first-semester BSc Nursing students was delivered by Dr Shashidhar V, Professor, Department of Microbiology, Kasturba Medical College, MAHE, 沙巴体育, on December 4, 2023. The resource person explained HIV-related causes, risk factors for transmission, access to effective HIV prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care, including opportunistic infections, lifesaving antiretroviral treatment (ART), social stigma, and enabling people living with HIV to lead long and healthy lives. The session was very informative. A total of 135 students benefitted from the awareness session.?
