沙巴体育 School of Nursing, MCON, MAHE, 沙巴体育 had organized a guest lecture on the topic “Nursing Standards in UK” by Mrs Irene Lobo Modi on 19?May 2021 at 2.30 pm on MS Teams platform.

The speaker felt proud of being an alumnus of MSON because of which she is confident enough to work anywhere and can handle various critical clinical conditions. Mrs Irene stressed some of the key points in nursing standards like being accountable, promoting health & preventing disease, assessing needs, and planning care, providing, and evaluating care, leading, and managing nursing care and working in teams, improving safety and quality of care.

She expressed that one of the very important factors is our communication skill. Also, the relationship management skill with our co-workers and competency in clinical skills plays a significant role. She briefly discussed about Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) course and requirements to work in the UK. A total of 80 participants attended the session. It was a useful and interactive session that could permit the participants to compare and relate with the standards existing in our country.
