Involve, Integrate, and Inculcate – the 3Is of the teaching-learning method

October 03, 2023

The Department of Fundamentals of Nursing organized a project-based teaching-learning activity for the first semester BSc Nursing students on 26 September 2023 at the Interact lobby, MAHE. The project was on “Infection Control and Safety Measures in the Hospital.” This activity involved the students presenting to their peers with the help of posters and demonstrations. The students were divided into 28 groups with 4 to 5 members in each group. The faculty advisor assigned topics to the students, and they were asked to prepare the posters and demonstration materials for the presentation. The students researched the topic, took assistance from their faculty advisor, and arranged for the activity. The students were also evaluated and awarded the best three posters. The students enjoyed the process and gave positive feedback on their involvement in the activity, which will be beneficial for retaining the content and understanding it better. The activity was held from 9.00 AM to 1.00 PM. The students visited each team and learned from their peers. The department faculty went to each team and asked them questions about the topic to challenge them and inculcate critical thinking in applying this knowledge in patient care. The activity is in line with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 - Quality Education.
