On 26th November 2024, Deakin students and faculty visited the Ramdas Pai Block and Kasturba Hospital 沙巴体育. Dr Soumya Christabel, Asst Professor In the MSN department of MCON 沙巴体育, along with Mrs. Keerthi and Mrs. Janet of KH, accompanied the students for the visit; they observed the registration, file entry, re-entry, and admission processes; they observed well-organized ICUs adhering to ICU level norms and witnessed the functioning of ICUs, with various healthcare professionals working in collaboration. They even visited the Emergency Department, where the on-duty EMD resident explained the triaging system at KH Hospital. Following that, they visited the Blood Bank of KH Hospital, where the staff briefly explained the collection, processing, storing, and issuing of blood and blood products. They then visited the SKIN BANK of Kasturba Hospital. In the skin bank, Dr. N C Shreekumar, professor and HOD of the Department of Plastic Surgery, briefed them on

collecting, processing, and storing skin samples. Following that, the group proceeded to the Diabetic Foot Clinic, where the faculty of physiotherapy provided an overview of the clinic's operations. Subsequently, they toured the artificial limb center, observing the process of making prostheses. They then proceeded to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Kasturba Hospital, where the on-duty ANS oriented them about the NICU's functioning; they stopped by the General Medicine OPD, where they observed the functioning of the OPD.

On 27th 2024, Dr Shashidhara Y N, HOD Department of Community Health Nursing, accompanied the team to Spandana Nature and Namma Angadi, orienting them to PHC and family nursing by visiting the PHC. In the afternoon, they were oriented to the Ayurvedic department of KH; Mrs. Rishmitha, lecturer and MSN dept accompanied the students and staff. They visited the Venugopal temple, and faculty and students expressed their happiness about the temple's design. Temple Poojary explained about the idol worshipped there and the date of construction. Around 10 am, we left for the nearby Durga temple. They have seen different paintings and idols of Goddess Durga, and they have witnessed worshipping Navagraha idols. At around 5 pm, we reached 沙巴体育 Lake and walked around it. They were pleased to see a large lake with water and its cleanliness, and they were assisted by Mr. Raghavendra Nayak, Lecturer in the Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing MCON 沙巴体育.

On November 28th, 2024, Mrs. Anusuya Prabhu, Asst Professor of the Child Health Nursing Department, oriented them to the Yoga department and SDM College of Ayurveda Parika; in the afternoon, they visited Hombelaku Psychiatric Rehabilitation Centre, KMC, 沙巴体育, Mr. Praveen Jain, Faculty, Department of Psychiatry, KMC, MAHE explained about the setup and activities conducted in the center. He also explained the Modified Assertive Community Treatment Programme and Telepsychiatry conducted by the department. Students interacted with the inmates and were involved in their activities. The program was coordinated by Mr Renjulal, Assistant Professor, and Dr. Savitha Prabhu, Assistant Professor from the Department of Psychiatric (Mental Health) Nursing, MCON, 沙巴体育.

On November 29th, a workshop on "Introduction to Yoga, Mindful meditation, EF, Outdoor leadership" & Culture Studies Centre visit and screening of Tulunadu Short documentary film was organized by Dr. Elsa Sanatombi Devi Professor and Director, CCEID MCON 沙巴体育. In the afternoon, they headed to the Heritage Village, accompanied by Mr Amol, Lecturer, Community Health Nursing Department, a unique museum where they preserved the local architecture, art, and cultures. It took us around 2 hours to see the magnificent and unique art, wood works, heritage, and culture from the golden era, which have been relocated and kept intact.

On November 30th, students and faculty from Deakin University, accompanied by Mr Raghavendra Lecturer, MSN department MCON 沙巴体育, embarked on a captivating journey from 沙巴体育 Academy of Higher Education to the iconic Murudeshwara Shiva Temple. The temple's scenic beauty, intricate architecture, and spiritual ambiance left a lasting impression. Following this enriching encounter, the group proceeded to Maravanthe Beach, where a stroll along the shoreline offered a serene and picturesque experience. The visit transcended mere sightseeing, evolving into a meaningful academic exchange that provided students with a holistic learning experience. The memories of the awe-inspiring temple and tranquil beach will undoubtedly resonate as highlights of this genuinely enriching journey.

On December 2nd, 2024, Dr. Freston Marc Sirur, Assistant Professor in the Dept of Emergency Medicine at KMC 沙巴体育, accompanied the international students on the wilderness medicine trip to Agumbe forest. Students and faculty from Deakin University witnessed a scenic view of the Swarna River and the fascinating temple town of Udupi.

On 3rd December 2024, Mr Raghavendra Lecturer, MSN department MCON 沙巴体育, assisted the international students and teachers at the Culinary Museum and experienced the Indian cooking class and application of traditional nutrition for health at 2:50 pm visited Krishna Temple Udupi. They could see inside the temple, including Gaushala. They also shop for craft items from the shops around the temple. Around 4 pm, we reached Malpe Walk, where they spent one-hour sightseeing.

On December 4th, 2024, the students were oriented to the ICUs in the medical-surgical area, and they had a posting of 4 hours where they could interact with the students who were posted in the area. In the evening, they had moved towards End Point 沙巴体育 along with Mrs Sharlet, Assistant Professor, FON department MCON 沙巴体育.

On December 5th, the international students had a chance to visit the planetarium for a show of planets, followed by the forensic medicine lab and Biotherapeutic Institute. In the afternoon, they visited the Smirthi Bhavan, where they had a chance to learn about the founder of the KMC 沙巴体育.

On December 6th at 3:30 pm, a closing meeting was arranged with the 沙巴体育 team and all the Professors of MCON 沙巴体育; they were asked to express their views on the overall visit and thanked Deakin University for visiting and expressed their interest in welcoming them again.

On December 7th, 2024, the Deakin University students and teachers headed to the airport for the return trip. The whole tour was organized by Dr. Elsa Sanatombi Devi, Prof Pillar 3 head,?and the team members. It was a fantastic experience interacting with the international members.
