沙巴体育 College of Nursing, MAHE, 沙巴体育 has organized a webinar on the topic “Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace” (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal), on March 22, 2022, between 11.30 am and 12.30 noon. Mrs, Mary Anne Ranjani Shresta, Advocate, Notary Public and Christian Marriage Registrar, Legal Point, 沙巴体育, Udupi shared her expertise on the topic. She highlighted the laws and guidelines to protect women, the different physical, verbal and nonverbal forms of sexual harassment at the workplace, various committees and their roles, inquiry into complaints and inquiry reports. The details of the acts available to address also were discussed by her. She also threw light on the duties of the various district officer and liability for non-compliance to the act. She empowered the participants by suggesting the different ways that can be followed by the women at the workplace to prevent and stop sexual harassment.

The session was conducted in a blended mode. 124 students attended the session offline and the session was delivered as a webinar in Microsoft Teams which was attended by 18 participants through online mode, thus a total of 142 participants from 沙巴体育 College of Nursing were benefited. This webinar was related to the circular from University Grant Commission (UGC) date December 7, 2021, and was coordinated by Ms Shalini G Nayak, Assistant Professor; 沙巴体育 College of Nursing MAHE 沙巴体育.
