Session on "Effective communication strategies and conflict resolution"

The Department of Fundamentals of Nursing at 沙巴体育 College of Nursing (MCON), MAHE, organized an insightful online session on “Effective Communication Strategies and Conflict Resolution” for the Operating Room (OR) staff nurses on October 24, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

The resource person for the session was Dr. Toni Bewley, Honorary Lecturer at the University of Liverpool and Adjunct Faculty at MCON, MAHE, 沙巴体育. Dr. Bewley shared her expertise in managing differences of opinion and handling diverse tasks in high-pressure environments such as the OR. She emphasized the significance of understanding group dynamics and employing effective communication techniques to prevent and resolve conflicts among healthcare professionals.

The session highlighted how improved communication and conflict resolution skills can lead to better teamwork and, ultimately, enhanced patient care outcomes. Dr. Bewley also encouraged active participation and interaction, which was well received by the attendees.

A total of 20 OR nurses from 沙巴体育 Hospitals, Bangalore, participated in the session and engaged actively with the speaker. The program was appreciated for its relevance and practical applicability in clinical settings.
